Thanks to some clever workarounds, you can now bring your Threads posts over to Bluesky. This means you won’t have to switch apps to stay updated on both platforms. It’s not exactly a one-click setup, but if you’re into experimenting with cross-platform sharing, this could be worth a try.

The magic happens through ActivityPub, a protocol that Threads recently enabled for fediverse sharing. By linking this to a service called Bridgy, you can sync your Threads content to a Bluesky account. It might sound complicated, but think of it as using some digital duct tape to get two different systems to play nice.

A few users have already tested this setup, and their experiences are promising. For example, one user shared a screenshot of a bridged Threads account visible on Bluesky. The handle looked a little unconventional — something like @username.threads.net.ap.brid.gy — but it worked. Posts from Threads were live on Bluesky, allowing users to interact across platforms.

Nice, I just noticed that @bsky.brid.gy is also working for @threads users. As an example, Bluesky users can see posts from @0xjessel

To make this happen, you’ll need to enable fediverse sharing on your Threads account first. From there, you can use Bridgy to handle the heavy lifting of converting Threads’ ActivityPub posts into a format Bluesky understands. It’s not a direct connection, but rather a bridge built with existing tools.

People have been asking for a way to manage their online presence across multiple platforms without having to manually copy and paste content. This workaround scratches that itch, even if it’s still a bit clunky for now.

That said, not everyone’s thrilled. Some Bluesky users worry this kind of cross-platform sharing might flood their timelines with unwanted content. Others see it as a stepping stone toward a more unified digital space. The choice is ultimately yours. If you don’t want your Threads posts showing up on Bluesky, simply don’t enable the feature.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to follow a Threads account from Bluesky, now you can. It might involve some tinkering, but as one user joked, “With enough duct tape and baling twine, you can make anything talk to anything.” And for many, that’s the beauty of the internet.
