It seems Samsung TV owners around the world are reporting that their TVs are experiencing issues with apps, with many getting a “server under maintenance” error.

It appears to be a widespread problem, as many users are taking to X, Reddit, and Samsung’s forums to vent their frustration. People are reporting that after a power outage or just out of the blue, their apps have stopped working, leaving them with limited options.

The reports show a clear pattern: almost every streaming app, like Peacock, YouTube TV, and Hulu, is failing to work. However, many users have noted that the Netflix app seems to be unaffected. This has led to the theory that the issue is not with the apps themselves, but with Samsung’s servers, which are believed to route most app traffic through their Smart Hub. Netflix, on the other hand, likely uses its own direct servers.

Some users have tried various troubleshooting steps, like rebooting their TV, resetting their Smart Hub, or even doing a full factory reset. Unfortunately, these steps don’t seem to be helping, and in some cases, they’ve made things worse. People who have done a factory reset are finding they can’t even get past the initial setup because they can’t accept the terms and conditions. It looks like the best thing to do is just wait for Samsung to fix the issue on their end.

Luckily, it seems the company is already on it. Multiple users have shared a statement from Samsung’s customer service, which reads as follows:

We are aware of a potential disruption of service on your Samsung TV. Our engineers are currently working to restore service as soon as possible. At this time, no additional information can be provided by our representatives. We apologize for this inconvenience.

We’ll keep an eye on the situation and will update the article when there are any further developments.
