A player shared their disappointment on Reddit, stating: “Anyone else’s game stuttering/lagging after the update? It was running real smooth until the update, first time I’ve had problems!” This sentiment was echoed by numerous others in the Dreamlight Valley subreddit, with another player confirming the same: “Yes, it’s incredibly laggy. Using menus is horrible.”
The problems seem to affect core gameplay, with some players experiencing stuttering even during simple tasks like fishing or moving items. One player said: “Fishing is now a nightmare when it freezes for a few seconds.” Another player shared, “I actually rage quit earlier because of it lol. Didn’t need the stress right now.”
The performance issues are not limited to PS5. PS4 and other platforms have also been affected, but PS5 players seem to bear the brunt of the problems. In a separate thread, one user explained their problem: “Since the update, the game is hitching pretty consistently every 30 seconds or so. Inputs don’t even work, so it’s not even like a lag. It’s a complete freeze for a couple seconds, making the game unplayable.”
It’s not just Reddit though. Players have also taken to X to report the problem. However, even though many have tagged the official Disney Dreamlight Valley account on the platform, there’s still no official acknowledgment.
