Epic Games is currently addressing a bug in Fortnite that affects lobby music volume, frustrating players with unexpectedly loud tracks that ignore the in-game audio settings. Multiple users have reported the issue on Reddit and X. Luckily, the devs have confirmed they are aware of the issue on the official Trello board.

The glitch involves Jam Tracks. According to the Trello board update, these tracks do not adjust to the “Music” volume setting as expected. Players noted that the tracks continue to blast at full volume even with the music volume set to zero. Some users reported that the music plays randomly in the lobby, even when no music is selected, leading many to disable audio entirely.

One player on Reddit wrote, “I keep hearing music in the lobby even though I have it turned off. It’s really annoying, especially when some random hard rock song plays.” Another noted, “Turning main audio to 0% fixes it but that’ll mean no audio during games right?”

Apart from the Trello board, the Fortnite Status account on X also responded to complaints about the bug stating “Our team is aware of this issue. You can keep an eye on this Trello card for any news.” The Trello board lists the bug under “General Top Issues” with an “In Development” status, indicating that a fix is actively being worked on.

Some players have suggested workarounds that may help until a patch is released:

  • Changing the lobby music loadout: Some users found that selecting a different track or setting it to “Empty” in the Locker temporarily resolves the issue.
  • Muting the main audio: While this stops the music, it also mutes all sounds during gameplay, which obviously isn’t ideal.

One Reddit user confirmed: “It was set on ‘Random,’ but changing it to ‘Empty’ stopped the music.” Others shared similar success, but these solutions may not work for everyone.

That said, the devs haven’t yet shared a definitive timeline for a fix. So if you’re experiencing the same bug, you might want to try the suggested workarounds. In the meantime, we’ll keep our eyes out for any further developments and will update the article if there’s something worth sharing.
