Update (May 24, 2024): A Samsung moderator confirmed that the issue where exercise timings were inaccurate has been addressed with the latest software update. Here’s what they say (translated from Korean to English):

The problem you mentioned has been corrected in the recently released update, so please update your Galaxy Fit 3 to the latest version before using it. (Source)

However, if the issue is still bugging you, then you might have to reset your Fitbit. One user suggested that they fixed the problem by resetting the device.

I had the same problem, but after backing up and resetting Fit 3, the exercise was displayed normally on Fit 3. (Source)

The company is also working to address a problem where the ECG record is mixing up the time by replacing A.M with P.M., according to the mod.

Update (May 15, 2024): Looks like Fit 3 is now getting its first software update. Though the update is currently rolling out in South Korea, it should be available elsewhere in the coming weeks. The changelog doesn’t mention any details, so be sure to let us know your experience when you get the update.

Original story (from May 10, 2024) follows:

The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3, launched in February 2024 as the successor to the popular Fit 2, promised a long battery life with its sleek design and new features. However, some users are experiencing the opposite — excessive battery drain, inaccurate stress readings, and notification glitches. The good news? Samsung is aware of these issues and is working on a software update to fix them, but a release date remains under wraps.

Galaxy Fit 3 users report disappointing battery life

One of the key selling points of the Galaxy Fit 3 was its advertised 13-day battery life. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been the reality for some users. Online forums are buzzing with complaints about the tracker losing charge much faster than expected, including when in sleep mode.

One user put a fully charged Galaxy Fit 3 in sleep mode overnight and by morning it was already down to 70%. Sleep mode is supposed to conserve battery, so its understandable that affected users think this is ridiculous. Another user echoed the sentiment, stating they were only getting 6 days on a charge, whereas their previous Fit 2 lasted weeks.

The issue seems to be particularly noticeable at night. Users report significant battery drops even with the screen off and sleep mode enabled. Disabling features like blood oxygen monitoring and snore detection hasn’t solved the problem either. Some suspect a bug with the heart rate sensor, as the green light on the back of the tracker seems to be flashing excessively despite turning off continuous monitoring. The good thing is this is going to be fixed soon.

Inaccurate stress readings add to frustration

In addition to the battery woes, some Galaxy Fit 3 users are also encountering inconsistencies with stress level measurements. Several users have reported instances where the tracker simply stopped measuring stress altogether, requiring a full reset to resume functionality. This throws a wrench into the experience for users who rely on the fitness tracker to monitor their stress levels throughout the day. But like the battery drain issue, the next Galaxy Fit 3 firmware update is expected to fix these issues with stress level measurements.

Notification issues round up the Galaxy Fit 3 woes

Notification woes add another layer of frustration for Galaxy Fit 3 users. Some report seeing notifications with incorrect dates, while others don’t see notifications at all on their trackers, even though they appear on their phones. There are also cases of overlapping notifications, which can be frustrating given the small screen size on the Fit 3. All these disrupt the core functionality of a fitness tracker, which is supposed to keep you connected and informed at a glance. Luckily, these problems should also be addressed with the upcoming firmware update.

Samsung to the rescue, but there’s no release date

While the exact date remains elusive, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for Galaxy Fit 3 users. Samsung moderators have acknowledged the battery drain, stress measurement, and notification issues and confirmed that a software update is in the works to address them.

This update promises a sigh of relief for users who have been experiencing these problems since the Fit 3’s launch. Hopefully, the update will deliver on the tracker’s promised features and provide the seamless fitness tracking experience users expect from Samsung.

In the meantime, Galaxy Fit 3 users can keep an eye out on Samsung’s official channels for updates on the software update’s release date. Let’s hope it arrives sooner rather than later to turn this potentially great fitness tracker into the reliable companion it was designed to be.
