Lots of businesses using Google Ads to get the word out about their products and services are facing a tough situation right now. Since March 1, 2025, tons of accounts worldwide have seen their ads just stop showing up online. This has left many worried and frustrated since they count on these ads to bring in customers.

The trouble kicked off without warning. Some folks noticed their ads quit running right at midnight on March 1 in their local time zones. Even with everything set up right in their accounts, the ads aren’t popping up on Google searches or other sites. One user shared, “Today the whole day from midnight, our ads are not showing on Google at all. We have 20,000 products that usually appear in top positions, but none are visible.” Another, who’s been at this for 12 years, said, “We’ve never had a day with zero ads until now.” It’s a real head-scratcher for many.

This matters a lot because Google Ads is how businesses get seen online. They pay to have ads appear when people search certain words or visit websites in Google’s network. When those ads vanish, it’s harder for customers to find them, which can mean fewer sales and a big hit to their bottom line.

People have been flooding the Google Ads forum with questions and complaints. A few noticed their competitors’ ads are still out there, so it’s not hitting everyone. Still, for those affected, it’s a major headache. Someone even shared a screenshot of the sudden drop for proof.

Folks are guessing about what’s behind this mess. Some think it might tie back to a change Google planned for March 2025, where they were set to ditch a feature called Enhanced CPC. That tool helps adjust ad spending to get more clicks or sales, and maybe its exit broke something. Others wonder if it’s linked to how businesses tie their Google Business Profile to local ads. These are just guesses though, nothing solid yet.

Good news is that Google knows about it. They’ve updated the issue on the Google Ads status dashboard, where you can check for updates. Anyone stuck in this should peek there for the latest. Here’s what the current update says:

For now, affected businesses should hang tight and watch that dashboard. With so many reaching out, support might take a bit to respond. Some have been dealing with this for over 34 hours already, so patience is key. Hopefully, Google sorts this out fast so everyone can get back to normal.
