Instagram has rolled out a new feature that lets users add music to their profiles, reminiscent of the popular Myspace feature from the early 2000s. This addition allows you to showcase your musical taste or current favorite track right on your bio. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to add a song to your Instagram profile:

  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile page.
  2. Tap on “Edit Profile” at the top of your screen.

  7. Once you’ve made your selection, tap “Done” to confirm.

Once done, the song should show up in the bio. It’s important to note that unlike the autoplay feature on Myspace, Instagram gives viewers control over playback. People visiting your profile can choose to play or pause the track as they wish.

This new music feature taps into Instagram’s vast library of licensed music, which is also used for Reels and posts. It offers users another way to express themselves and share their musical preferences with followers.

To celebrate the launch of this feature, Instagram has partnered with pop star Sabrina Carpenter. The singer is using her profile to tease “Taste,” a never-before-heard song from her upcoming album “Short n’ Sweet.” This exclusive preview is only available through Instagram’s new profile music feature, giving fans a unique way to access new content from their favorite artists.

Interestingly, I noticed that this isn’t a completely new feature. Instagram was testing the feature months ago with a small group of randomly selected users. However, with the official announcement, it’s clear that Instagram thinks the feature is finally ready for a global release.

Whether you’re looking to share your current earworm or showcase a track that represents your mood, adding music to your Instagram profile is a fun way to personalize your online presence. Give it a try and let your profile sing! Since the feature has just been announced, there are chances that you might not see it appear on your profile yet. The only thing you can do right now is check for an update for the Instagram app on your device, or simply wait for it to go live on your account.

In case we do discover a trick that actually helps bring the feature to an account that still doesn’t have it, we’ll update the article. Thanks for sticking to the end!
