Players diving into Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are running into game-breaking bugs, with the whip and camera being at the center of the complaints. Across forums like Steam and Reddit, fans have shared stories of frustration, describing how these essential tools suddenly stop working mid-game.
For many, the whip simply becomes unresponsive. One player on Steam noted that pressing the R1 button on their controller did nothing. After trying multiple fixes, they resorted to rolling back to an earlier save, which temporarily solved the issue. Others weren’t so lucky. Some players reported that even reloading saves didn’t help, leaving them stuck and unable to progress.
One Redditor described being unable to use the whip after loading a save made shortly after acquiring the camera. “Now I’m further in the game and can’t use my whip. Restoring an old save slot doesn’t even help. What the hell,” they wrote. Another user reported the same issue, noting that they were soft-locked with no viable fixes.
While some players initially suspected controller issues, further testing ruled this out. Both keyboard and controller inputs seem to fail in the same way, even after players try reassigning buttons. This suggests the problem is likely rooted in the game’s code.
The frustration doesn’t stop there. Players on Xbox Series X are also reporting similar bugs, showing that the issue isn’t limited to one platform. For those affected, the only consistent workaround so far has been rolling back to a much earlier save. This isn’t ideal because it means potentially losing hours of progress. A frustrated player on Steam vented, “I can only go back to Marshall College… after all the gameplay I did in Italy. I don’t think rolling back is a fix. It could happen again!”
The camera tool is also causing problems. In some cases, players couldn’t equip or unequip the camera, while others mentioned that the camera keeps moving with no input. This bug has left many unable to complete critical tasks, like taking photos or using the whip to navigate puzzles.
Many players are now calling on the developers to prioritize a patch. As of now, there’s no official acknowledgment of the issue on the game’s update pages. As usual, we’ll keep an eye on the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments.
