If Instagram has been crashing on you lately, you’re not alone. I’ve noticed this issue myself while using an Android device. Every time I open my profile page or try adding music to a post, the app crashes instantly. Interestingly, I couldn’t replicate the problem on iOS, but Android users seem to be the hardest hit.
A quick scroll through Reddit and X confirms this is a widespread issue. Many users are reporting similar problems. One Redditor mentioned their app crashes every time they tap on their profile. Another noted that adding music to their bio or stories seems to trigger the app to shut down. Some tried troubleshooting like clearing the cache, reinstalling the app, and even restarting their devices, but nothing worked.
On X, one user pointed out that the problem might be linked to Instagram Music. Profiles with songs in their bios or posts featuring music seem to crash more often. Another user shared a screenshot of the error and described how the app crashes on their Samsung Galaxy A34, despite trying all the usual fixes.
What’s frustrating is that this glitch seems to come out of nowhere. People with a range of devices, from the Galaxy S23 Ultra to older models like the S10, are all reporting the same problem. Some users have taken to accessing Instagram through a browser just to avoid the crashes.
In my case, I was running Instagram Beta version 358. However, upon updating to the latest Instagram Beta version 359, it seems like the app is no longer crashing on my Android device. I can add music to posts and even open the profile page now. So I’d suggest checking for any available updates or downloading the latest Instagram Beta APK file and sideloading it on your device.
This isn’t the first time Instagram users have faced app-breaking bugs. Recently, the whole platform went down due to an outage. Still, it’s surprising that such a big platform can’t avoid these mishaps. Hopefully, Meta is already working on a fix. Until then, if you’re experiencing this issue, you might want to avoid adding music to your posts or profile. And if you’re curious whether it’s just you, rest assured, it’s not.
