Many Instagram users appear to be facing issues while trying to send messages in group chats. Downdetector, a site tracking service outages, showed a sharp spike in Instagram problem reports around 08:30 AM (IST). Over 250 reports flooded in within hours. Complaints centered on failed group chats, with some users noting the issue affected specific long-running groups but not newer ones.

On Reddit, one user said their two-year-old group chat suddenly stopped allowing messages, calling it “so annoying.” Others replied with similar stories, stating they could message privately but not in groups. “Does this app ever work properly?” asked another frustrated commenter. Meanwhile, X users tagged Instagram’s official account, demanding a fix for the problem.

Meta has not acknowledged the issue publicly yet, however, it’s highly likely that the issue will be resolved within the next few hours, if not earlier.
