Pokémon Go players are hitting a snag with the latest Showcase events. A growing number of players report confusing discrepancies between the points their Zygarde appears to earn in their storage and the far lower scores they receive once the Pokémon is entered into a PokéStop Showcase.
The issue blew up on social media and forums this week. One player claimed their Zygrade previewed at 2,005 points but dropped to 459 after being placed in a Showcase. “Does anyone know how to fix this?” they asked on Reddit. Another trainer shared a similar story. Their Zygarde showed a massive 3,446 points in storage but plummeted to 686 in the actual Showcase. “For the effort put into getting him, he would’ve been a beast,” they lamented.
Players quickly theorized the problem stems from how Zygarde’s different forms are calculated. When previewing points in storage, the game might compare Zygarde Complete Forme’s size to its smaller 10% Forme, making scores appear inflated. But Showcases could instead use the Complete Forme’s average size as the baseline. “The select tab might compare it to the dog form, but the showcase uses the complete form,” speculated Reddit user Muumi-LvsB.
Niantic acknowledged the bug today after a player’s public callout. “We are aware of the issue where the Showcase points are showing differently in the Pokémon storage than when placed in the PokéStop Showcase for Zygrade,” the official support account replied. They confirmed the team is investigating but offered no timeline for a fix.
The glitch has left competitive players scrambling. Some switched to non-Zygarde Pokémon to secure better rankings. Others vented about wasted effort, like one trainer whose Zygarde previewed at 2,479 points but registered just 479 in a Showcase. “I haven’t gotten any Zygarde cells on my routes the last few days,” mentioned another player, airing unrelated but compounding frustrations.
For now, trainers are advising others to double-check scores before committing a Pokémon to a Showcase. We’ll post an update if and when there are any further developments.
