Roku TV users are facing a frustrating new problem after a recent OS update, with many finding their devices suddenly unable to connect to their home networks. This issue has been reported widely across the Roku community forums, with users detailing various struggles in reconnecting their TVs to Wi-Fi.

Users describe a variety of network connectivity problems. These include TVs failing to connect to Wi-Fi automatically upon startup, endless scanning for available networks without displaying results, sudden inability to connect to previously working networks, frequent disconnections every 10 minutes, and the inability to detect the correct Wi-Fi network while other devices connect without issue.

Several users have pointed fingers at the recent Roku TV update as the likely culprit, with one commenter stating, “I think the issue stems from the June 4 update my TV received.”

Roku has acknowledged the problem and is actively investigating.

We have received reports that some users with Roku TV are experiencing difficulty connecting to their home network following a recent OS update. This issue is currently being investigated.

In the forum post, the company is also requesting affected users to provide specific details about their Roku device models, serial numbers, device IDs, error codes, and OS versions accessible via Settings > System > About. They’ve also asked users to share any troubleshooting steps they’ve already attempted.

If you’re experiencing network connection problems with your Roku TV, you can help Roku diagnose and fix the issue by providing the requested information. To obtain your device’s tracker ID, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times when the connection problem occurs.

While Roku works on a solution, some users have found temporary workarounds like restarting their TVs or routers. However, these fixes are not consistent for everyone, and the underlying problem remains unresolved.

For now, Roku TV users can only hope for a swift resolution so they can get back to enjoying their favorite shows and movies without interruption.
