Samsung’s Good Lock is the go-to app for Galaxy users who want to spice things up on their smartphones through customization. For years, the biggest problem was its limited availability in certain regions only. Furthermore, the app was (and still is) exclusive to the company’s in-house Galaxy Store.
For those unaware, the app enables users to personalize almost every aspect of their Galaxy device’s interface, from the lock screen to notifications, navigation, and more. Fans have long criticized its limited availability, but with One UI 7.0, Samsung is finally addressing these concerns. A mod on the company’s Korean community has officially confirmed that Good Lock is going global through the Google Play Store along with the One UI 7 update based on Android 15.
The global launch comes with significant updates to the app. Samsung has redesigned Good Lock’s main interface to make it easier to use, especially for newcomers. The update will also bring a new search and filter feature, helping users find specific functions or relevant posts about them more efficiently. With a total of 23 modules, Good Lock has grown into a powerful customization tool for Galaxy devices.
The mod claims updated Good Lock modules, including MultiStar, NavStar, and QuickStar, should have started rolling out in late December 2024. However, some modules like Home Up and LockStar will face slight delays due to extensive internal testing. These modules, featuring new functionality and structural updates, are expected to be fully available soon.
Apart from visual improvements, the new skin is also bringing some cool new features like the option to filter notifications and experience Google Pixel and iOS inspired animations. The stable One UI 7 update, along with the refreshed Good Lock app and modules, will likely go live in February.
