Update 6/09/24 4:29 pm (IST): The devs have confirmed that they’re taking the offline for maintenance to fix the login errors. Here’s the latest word on the situation:
Original article published on September 5, 2024, follows:
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s early access launch has been overshadowed by a wave of login errors that have left many players frustrated and unable to play. The game, which promised an immersive open-world racing experience, is currently facing backlash as users report repeated issues logging into the platform despite maintenance efforts by the developers.
Shortly after the early access launch, players from various platforms, including Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC, began encountering login errors that prevented them from accessing the game. The developers acknowledged the server issues via social media, but did not specifically address the login problems that players were reporting.
“We are aware of connection/servers issues for some of the players. Our team is actively working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding!” the official Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Twitter account posted earlier today. A follow-up post announced a server maintenance period aimed at addressing the connection issues, promising that servers would be back up in about 30 minutes. However, many players are still unable to log in.
⚠️ We will now operate a servers maintenance in order to fix most of the current launch connection/servers issues. Players that are currently in-game will be disconnected.
✅ Servers should be available for everyone in ~30 minutes.

Naturally, many early access buyers who paid a premium for the game have expressed their frustrations with the ongoing issues. One player said “This is crazy. Paid for early access. Woke up early excited to play. Cannot access on Series X. Login error. Way to go. wtf are you guys doing? This is such bs.” Another shared a similar sentiment: “Server down on PS5 console won’t let me login to PS5 servers.”
The errors are affecting players across all platforms, with reports of the game displaying messages like “Failed to log in to platform” and preventing further access. Some players are even considering refunds, stating, “Back to the same login error. I think servers just can’t handle the load. What a shame, was looking forward to this. Will refund the gold edition and wait for the standard.”
The developers have yet to provide a clear timeline for when the login errors will be fully resolved, leaving many players feeling left in the dark. The game’s official communication channels continue to focus on broader server issues, without specifically addressing the recurring login errors that have plagued the early access launch. That being said, it’s not uncommon for freshly launched games to crumble under the initial load on the servers. Hang in there!
