Clash Royale’s latest update has left players fuming, with many taking to Reddit and social media to vent their frustration. Dubbed by some as the “worst update ever,” the changes have sparked a wave of criticism aimed at developer Supercell. From the removal of fan-favorite game modes to unexpected bugs, the community is not holding back.

One of the biggest gripes is the axing of 2v2 modes, including Casual 2v2. Players loved these for their laid-back vibe, a chance to team up with buddies or randoms and try out wild strategies without the stress of ranked play.

“It was fun playing random bullsh*t decks and having a laugh while making friends on the game. And now it’s gone?” wrote one Reddit user, summing up the disappointment. That mode was a chill escape, and now it’s just vanished.

Then there’s Classic 1v1, which used to cap card levels at 11 for a fair fight. Not anymore. The update scrapped those caps, leaving players to face off against opponents with maxed-out level 14 cards. It’s a tough blow for anyone trying to test new decks without grinding ladder.

“I don’t want to be forced to play my main deck all the time but every opponent I get has level 14 cards,” complained another player. Their thread garnered over three thousand upvotes in under 24 hours. What was once a casual testing ground now feels like a pay-to-win slog.

And if that wasn’t enough, a nasty bug wiped out players’ saved decks. Imagine logging in, ready to battle, only to find all your carefully crafted setups gone. Poof. One user took to Reddit to ask if they were the only one who noticed the missing Decks.

Progression took a hit too. Books from challenge completions? Removed. Gems? Pulled from masteries and sprinkled onto the trophy road, where they’re tougher to grab for anyone not already at high ranks. “They axed 2v2 and global tournaments, nerfed progression for anyone that doesn’t already have a maxed deck,” a player ranted. Free-to-play fans feel especially stung by this one.

The update wasn’t all doom and gloom — at least, it wasn’t supposed to be. A new mode, Merge Tactics, had players buzzing with excitement. But it didn’t even launch. According to posts on X, Supercell hit a snag and had to disable it temporarily, promising a fix soon.

That said, we’ll keep a close eye on any further developments and will update the article if there’s something to share.
