Players of DayZ and Arma Reforger have been left stranded for several hours as developer Bohemia Interactive battles a widespread DDoS attack. Reports of server outages began flooding Reddit and X on Sunday, with frustrated gamers unable to log into official servers across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
The issue gained traction on Reddit, where a moderator for the DayZ subreddit confirmed the attack targeted Bohemia’s corporate infrastructure. While the studio hasn’t officially named the culprits, users speculated Russian hackers may be behind the disruption, though motives remain unclear. One moderator noted the attack excluded third-party servers like Nitrado, narrowing the focus to Bohemia’s own systems.
Angry players flooded threads with complaints. “Servers still down for me on PS5,” wrote one user, echoing dozens of others. Xbox and PC players faced similar issues, with error messages like “BIOS Error” and “auth token” failures blocking access. Some managed to join intermittently, only to lose connection after restarts. “I was on a server for four hours and got booted. DDOSing a game like this is so pathetic,” another user vented.
Bohemia’s DayZ X account acknowledged the problem, stating teams were “working non-stop” to restore services. While some servers briefly returned, instability persisted, and the company warned there’s “no ETA” for a full fix. The fallout also hit Arma Reforger, forcing the postponement of a community event as developers scrambled to address the attack.
Due to ongoing server disruptions, we will be postponing this event.

In the meantime, our team is working non-stop to resolve this issue and bring things back to normal. 🛠️ https://t.co/nk9dt2eTPi
The situation sparked comparisons to past gaming disruptions, like the 2014 Lizard Squad attacks on PlayStation Network. “This reminds me of the worst days of online gaming,” one Reddit user wrote. Others darkly joked about taking matters into their own hands, with one commenting, “I’m about to hack it and bring the servers back up boyz.”
As of the latest updates, server access remains spotty. DownDetector, a platform that tracks service outages, indicates a slight drop in the number of complaints indicating a server outage for DayZ and Arma Reforger. However, it’s still not completely recovered.
For now, the wait continues, testing the patience of fans eager to return to the post-apocalyptic chaos of DayZ or the military sim grind of Arma Reforger.
