If you’ve been mowing down bosses and flying through dungeons with Sentinel Shield in Destiny 2, you’ve probably noticed something feels… off. That’s because the Titan’s roaming super is currently dealing way more damage than it should, enough to melt bosses and solo flawless dungeons with ease.

Bungie confirmed on X that the damage increase is indeed a bug. Specifically, the melee attack of the Sentinel Shield’s Super is hitting for over 180% more damage than intended. For Titans, this bug has turned the ability into a wrecking ball of destruction, but for everyone else, it’s raised eyebrows. Bungie says they’re targeting mid-December for a fix. When it arrives, the damage will be reduced, but the devs promise it’ll still be higher than it was before the 8.1.5 update.

In the meantime, the Destiny 2 community is making the most of it. Players on Reddit are sharing clips of absurd damage numbers and debating how much power the Super should retain after the patch. “With Well of Radiance, you can hit for about 400k on the heavy attack,” one player noted, claiming it’s possible to break 3.5 million damage with the right setup. Another joked, “We were so close to calling them Boom Fangs,” referencing the exotic Doom Fang Pauldrons, which currently let Titans extend their Super indefinitely.

Some players are worried Bungie might nerf it too much. “Hopefully they don’t gut it too bad,” one Redditor commented, suggesting a balanced reduction to about 30-40% over pre-bug levels. Others are advocating for roaming Supers like Sentinel Shield to keep significant buffs, arguing that they’ve been underpowered compared to burst DPS options in recent seasons.

If you’re a Titan, now’s the time to flex those shields. Whether you’re soloing dungeons, obliterating raid bosses, or just having a laugh, enjoy the chaos while it lasts. For everyone else, patience. Come mid-December, the Sentinel Shield will be back in line — well, mostly.
