Destiny 2 players are hitting a wall with the Zero Hour exotic mission, as a persistent bug keeps them from completing it. The issue, which stops the mission from properly ending, has left many stuck without rewards or quest progress. Bungie has acknowledged the problem but has yet to roll out a fix.
The mission, which lets players earn the Outbreak Perfected pulse rifle, has been unplayable for some since last week. After defeating the final boss and grabbing the chest, the mission timer continues counting down. When it hits zero, players are sent back to orbit without credit for completion. One player shared a video showing the problem, noting they ran the mission twice with no glitches but got nothing both times.
“I wasn’t awarded any triumphs for beating it nor did I complete step 1 of the Asset Protection quest,” the player wrote. Others echoed the frustration. One user called it “very frustrating” after multiple failed attempts. Another said they helped a friend through the mission only to hit the same dead end. “Feels bad man,” they added.
Bungie’s support account on X posted they are investigating the issue, but players are growing impatient. The bug affects both normal and Legend difficulty runs. Some reported getting the Outbreak Perfected weapon to drop but still being locked out of quest progress. Others found the mission restarting after the boss fight.
While Bungie has not shared a timeline for repairs, the community is trying to piece together workarounds. However, no consistent fix has emerged, at least based on most discussions online. So it might just be better to wait for an official patch to arrive with a proper fix.
As the weekend approaches, all eyes are on Bungie’s next move. With no hotfix in sight, players are left hoping the mission gets back on track soon.
