It seems many Dreamlight Valley players have been facing a frustrating issue with the game in the past few days. Following a recent update to Disney Dreamlight Valley, players on various platforms are reporting widespread and persistent crashing issues, turning what should be a cozy life-sim into a frustrating test of patience. The complaints are pouring in, with many feeling like their beloved game has become almost unplayable.

It seems the “Mysteries of Skull Rock” update, which brought exciting new content like Peter Pan and further story progression with The Forgotten, also introduced a significant stability problem. Players are experiencing crashes at nearly every turn. Whether it’s upon starting the game, in the middle of a quest, trying to enter stores, moving between realms or islands, or even during crucial cutscenes, the game is unexpectedly shutting down.

One frustrated player, who described themselves as “so over this,” shared their exasperation. “I was so hyped to dive back in, decorate the valley, do quests, vibe with my little villagers—and now? Crash after crash after crash.” They added that they have tried all the usual troubleshooting steps like restarting, reinstalling, and clearing the cache, but “NOTHING works.” For a game designed to be relaxing, this level of disruption is definitely causing more stress than joy.

Long-time players are noting a disappointing pattern. A “day one player” mentioned that a couple of years ago, a similar crashing issue plagued Xbox users, and it took months for a fix to arrive with a subsequent update. This history is fueling concerns that the current problems might linger for a while.

In another post, a user shared a video recording of the game just frozen (crashed), stating: “I’ve been experiencing constant crashes in Disney Dreamlight Valley since the June 20th, 2025 update – and from what I’m seeing online, I’m definitely not alone.”

While Xbox players seem particularly affected, reports are coming in from PC and even some Nintendo Switch users. One Switch player noted that while the game’s speed and lagging had improved for them after switching to a newer console, the latest update brought back a lot of freezing and crashes. Even those with powerful gaming PCs are not immune.

I’m constantly crashing on PC. I don’t think anywhere is safe from the crashes.

Another PC player shared that they had played for about 100 hours with only one or two crashes before this update. Now, it’s happening every 10 minutes or so. They said they have to constantly save before doing anything, highlighting a tedious workaround for a game that should be seamless.

Gameloft, the developer behind Disney Dreamlight Valley, has acknowledged the issue. Customer care responses to player tickets indicate that their “development team is already aware of the crashing and freezing issue and they are working on it.” They reassure players that they are “doing our best to solve these issues,” but also state that it is a “complex process that needs time and care.”

Since they didn’t provide any ETA for a fix, it’s unclear how long it’ll take for Gameloft to release a patch to address the crashing issue. Many are hoping a hotfix is on the way soon, especially with more content, including an expansion update, expected in the coming months.

That said, we’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and will update the article if there’s something to share.
