Elden Ring fans eager to dive into the new Nightreign standalone game are hitting a major roadblock. Players are reporting widespread server issues, making the highly anticipated expansion practically unplayable for many. It seems like the Lands Between are experiencing some serious digital turbulence.

The trouble started almost immediately after Nightreign went live. Reports began flooding in from players across various platforms, detailing frequent disconnections, especially during crucial moments of gameplay. Imagine battling a brand-new boss, getting them down to just a sliver of health, only for your screen to freeze and boot you back to the main menu. It is a frustrating scenario that countless players are currently facing.

“I’ve dced day 2 two really good runs in a row. New boss out and I can’t even fight him,” one user, BarovianNights, lamented on Reddit. Many others also chimed in noting that they too have had the same experience. Players are finding themselves repeatedly kicked from sessions, often losing progress on what would have been successful runs. It is not just casual encounters either. Some users mentioned losing progress on difficult boss fights.

“Lost a run where the boss was at 13% hp. It was probably the best RNG I’ve had in this game thus far only to end in a DC near the end. Oof,” shared Notreallyaflowergirl. Another player, No_Temperature8234, experienced disconnects both at the very start of a boss fight cutscene and when the boss was “5 Hits away from dying.” It is a brutal way to end an intense battle.

Similarly, even X is full of complaints that have been piling up over the past couple of hours. Here’s a screenshot for reference:

The developers are yet to release a statement to address the server issues. However, it’s not uncommon for servers to be fried when a highly anticipated game drops. Players can expect smoother gameplay within the next few hours if past situations are anything to go by. Either way, we’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and will update the article if there’s something to share.
