Plenty of Facebook creators woke up this week to find their monetization tools suddenly gone. Without warning, many saw notifications saying their profiles had “lost access to some monetization tools” or that their “ability to earn is limited.” The messages blamed vague “technology” flags and “connected entity violations,” but offered no clear explanation or example of wrongdoing.

On Reddit’s r/facebook forum, scores of users reported identical experiences between noon and mid-afternoon Eastern time. One creator, u/0rdinary_515, shared, “I got dinged on this around 1pm central. I’m not sure why but lost all my content monetization capabilities. Mine said ‘unoriginal content’ which I don’t steal content. I’m confused. No real answers.” Another, u/KLSFishing, guessed the system was simply casting a wide net. “I have no idea why they suspended my stuff either. No real reason or example provided. I’m gonna guess their ‘technology’ is dinging a lot of people right now. I submitted an appeal and I’ll wait to hear back.”

The removals affected Stars, bonus programs, ad breaks and other earning paths. Some creators even lost access after switching to Facebook’s own Content Monetization tools. In one case, a user saw restrictions drop on a non-monetized personal page, while their monetized business page remained untouched.

Despite frantic appeals, Meta’s support channels offered little help. Clicking the “See rule” link often returned an error page, and the usual appeal process was unavailable for those told they had “no recent violations.” A handful of creators reported their dashboards magically returned to normal within hours. Others remain locked out with no timeline for resolution.

One user highlighted this issue with a post on X, “There’s a wave of Facebook demonetizations happening right now. Pages are getting flagged for content that used to be fine—some even lost access after using Facebook’s own tools or switching to Content Monetization.” While a few accounts were reinstated overnight, many are still waiting.

Meta has not issued an official statement on the situation. However, I did spot a post from a user alleging that the company is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. But take the information with a pinch of salt since I couldn’t find any evidence to back up the claims.

For now, affected creators are left guessing whether this is a widespread glitch or an overzealous algorithmic sweep. Those whose livelihoods depend on Facebook’s monetization features are hoping the network will restore access swiftly and clarify what triggered the mass restrictions. In the meantime, users are urged to check their dashboards and file appeals through Meta Business Suite if their earning tools disappear without warning.
