A recent Fortnite bug is leaving players stuck with the same skins in their Locker, no matter how many times they try to change them. As complaints flood social media, players are frustrated over this issue, especially after Epic Games rolled out a new Locker update that’s proving to be glitchier than expected.

The bug seems to revert players’ outfits to previous choices or simply fails to save any changes they make. Many users are finding that no matter what skin they equip, Fortnite defaults back to a previous outfit as soon as they enter a game. One player shared their experience on X, saying, “I keep trying to switch my skin but it goes back to Lynx no matter what I do,” even after reinstalling the game to try and fix the issue.

On X, Epic Games acknowledged the problem through the official Fortnite Status account, confirming they’re looking into it: “We’ve seen additional reports that players are unable to update their Outfits in the Locker consistently, and we’re continuing investigations. More details to follow when we have a fix.”

While Epic hasn’t yet provided an official solution, some players have come up with a temporary fix. A Redditor has suggested a potential workaround which involves clearing out every section of your Locker before equipping a new skin can bypass the bug. On PlayStation, for example, players can use the R2 button to clear each slot in the Locker, equip a new setup, and play a game to “reset” the issue. While this fix isn’t foolproof, several players have reported it worked for them. There’s even a video explaining the same workaround:

The bug isn’t limited to skins either. Other Locker items like music packs, pickaxes, and even emotes are acting up. In some cases, changing to a loadout with a new music pack causes the music to stop playing altogether, which only adds to the Locker-related woes.

In the meantime, players are stuck waiting for Epic’s official fix. Until then, if you’re one of the many struggling to update your Locker, try clearing everything out and setting it up again – it might just save you a bit of frustration.
