Google’s premium AI subscription service has begun rolling out to international markets, but many users are finding themselves disappointed by what’s missing from the package. The tech giant’s Google AI Ultra plan, which costs $249.99 monthly in the United States, is now available in Canada, Turkey, India, Brazil, New Zealand, and other regions, with almost no regional price adjustments.
The availability was highlighted on a Reddit post where users from around the world have chimed in. The most glaring omission for international subscribers is YouTube Premium, a service that comes standard with the US version of Google AI Ultra.
In Canada the story is simple. Google AI Ultra is on offer but does not include a YouTube Premium subscription. Turkey is in the same boat. CommitteeOtherwise32 reminded fellow readers that AI Ultra just showed up there without the YouTube extras.
Down under, the news was no better. In New Zealand people saw a price tag close to five hundred New Zealand dollars and no YouTube Premium to sweeten the deal. Brazilian subscribers saw similar treatment. MaKTaiL reported that Google AI Ultra in Brazil costs over a thousand real and that the first three months run more than six hundred real, all without any Premium access.
Not every country lost out. In India the opposite happened. As rohmish explained, AI Ultra subscribers do get YouTube Premium bundled in. That seems to reflect how some services carry over to India with international pricing that targets business and creative users more than casual fans.
For now Google fans in excluded regions are left to decide if the extra AI access justifies losing YouTube Premium. The feedback suggests many want regional pricing and the old perks back. It may be that Google will tweak its approach as more markets come online. Until then those keen on deep research and video crafting will have to pay up without the usual streaming bonus.
