Update 13/11/24: More Chrome users are beginning to notice the tinted search results in yellow-brown-orange color. While it’s hard to tell whether this is a wider rollout, recent developments do suggest this change is available for more people.

Google Search has been a constant work in progress, with the team constantly experimenting with new features and tweaks to enhance the user experience. From the recent removal of Sitelinks Search Boxes to the introduction of the “Quick View” button for recipes, there’s always something new brewing in the search results.
It seems like Google is testing out some new themes — or what some are describing as an unexpected yellow, brown, or orange tint in their search results. While we all love a bit of flavor, these tints are leaving some users with sore eyes and plenty of questions. What’s worse is that even after troubleshooting through basic methods — clearing cache, reinstalling the app, switching wallpapers, or changing system themes (dark to light and vice versa) — this stubborn tint refuses to budge.
Some users have suggested that the color change might be related to their Chrome profile or account settings, but others have ruled out this possibility, confirming that the issue persists across different accounts and devices. For many, this color shift is affecting only their search results, while other parts of their phone remain untouched by this so-called “latte” color scheme. Android users seem to be dealing with it the most, but iPhone users aren’t completely spared either.
While some users are finding the new color scheme rather jarring and even painful to look at, others are taking it in stride, viewing it as a quirky little experiment that Google is conducting. One user even joked that Google might be trying to make search results more visually appealing, but the brown color choice is definitely a head-scratcher.
So, what’s the deal with this mysterious color change? Is it a bug? A new feature that’s being tested? Or simply a random glitch in the Matrix? Only time will tell.
And if that wasn’t enough, there are also ongoing reports of the videos tab disappearing from search results altogether. Now, instead of effortlessly finding video content related to their queries, users have to jump through hoops — manually adding “&tbm=vid” to the search URL just to get video results to appear.
