Spotify’s latest queue redesign has been… well, let’s just say it’s sparked some strong feelings. While the new layout is sleek and shiny, it’s left many users scratching their heads, especially when it comes to removing songs from the queue. Gone are the days of multi-select magic (RIP, you will be missed), but fear not! You can still kick unwanted tracks to the curb — it just takes a little swipey-swipe action.

Here’s a screenshot of the old UI.

Here’s your quick guide:

    1. Locate the song: Open your queue and find the track you’re ready to bid adieu.
    2. Swipe left: Place your finger on the song and swipe it to the left. That’s it — your track will vanish from the list.
    3. Repeat as needed: Unfortunately, multi-select removal hasn’t made the cut yet, so you’ll need to repeat the swipe for each song you want to remove.

Spotify’s playful new design may dazzle with fresh visuals and layout tweaks, but for those who rely on quick, multi-song removals, it’s a frustrating throwback to more tedious methods. While the single swipe feature is handy, the inability to clear out multiple songs in one sweep remains a major oversight for power users.

On the brighter side, not everyone is bemoaning the changes. Some parts of the update are worth celebrating for some of us. For instance, I like the new layout because it eliminates the need to click on a small circle to remove songs — a process that sometimes led to accidental plays. Plus, the larger cover art makes it easier to spot your tracks at a glance. This fresh design twist offers a more visual and arguably more intuitive experience, even if it comes with a few quirks.

Until Spotify hears the collective call for a multi-select option, your best bet is to keep that finger nimble and swipe away each unwanted track.
