It appears that someone might have spotted a prototype iPhone 17 Pro being tested in real life. User @Skyfops on X shared a couple of images where we can see a person holding the alleged iPhone 17 Pro that’s in a black case, which hides the actual design of the phone. The person is also seemingly holding another iPhone (possibly the 16 Pro) in the other hand which makes me think that they’re comparing the two.

Check out the images for yourself below:

Both images are taken from a distance, so there’s nothing really that we can say for certain apart from the fact that the camera section does indeed appear to be similar to leaked renders of the iPhone 17 Pro that we’ve seen before.

For instance, see where the flash, LiDAR, and microphone are located on the device with the black protective case. They’re aligned to the right of the phone. All other iPhones have these aligned on the left with the camera bump itself. Now take a look at this alleged render of the iPhone 17 Pro that surfaced all the way back in January.

As you can see, the alignment of the flash, microphone hole, and the LiDAR sensor match up to the device that was spotted in the wild. That said, all this is still only speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt. I’m skeptical about the authenticity of the images since the details are fuzzy at best.

Plus, these images don’t shed light on anything that previous leaks and rumors haven’t already touched upon. So while it’s interesting to see the prototype being tested in the real world, fans will still have to wait a couple of months for Apple to finally unveil what it has been hiding, or at least attempting to hide.
