An alleged new One UI 7.0 update timeline shared yesterday suggests that the much-awaited One UI 7.0 update might not arrive until April or May 2025 for many devices. This news, reportedly from a Zoom meeting about the S25 series, has left fans questioning Samsung’s plans.
The timeline, shared by Buliga Cristian on X, claims Samsung’s latest flagships like the Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 6 won’t receive One UI 7.0 until April 18. Older models, including the S21 series and 2023’s Z Fold 5, face waits stretching into May. Midrange Galaxy A devices like the A54 and A34 are penciled in for late April and May updates, while newer A55 and A35 models remain unconfirmed. Cristian attributed the delays to Samsung’s focus on refining Galaxy AI features, though the company has not verified this.
Users aren’t taking this well. On Reddit, one person vented, “Just give us One UI 8 Samsung! Pathetic.” Another individual on X said, “Ain’t no way we wait until April for One UI 7 on S24s.” Some are so fed up they’re eyeing a switch to Pixel or iPhone.
But here’s the catch. Samsung hasn’t confirmed any of this. The company’s only official word is that One UI 7.0 will drop in Q1, which ends in March. This leaked timeline stretches far beyond that, stirring doubts about its accuracy. Some users point to the presentation’s rough look, with one calling it “like it was made by a 6yo.” Others argue internal slides don’t need to be fancy to be legit.
Whatever the case, it’s quite a shame to see the face of the Android world release a major OS update several months after it hit other devices. Galaxy S23 users bagged the Android 14 update with One UI 6 in December 2023. But Galaxy S24 users are being made to wait a few more months to get their hands on the latest Android update.
If true, this delay could hurt Samsung’s credibility. “Samsung isn’t doing anything to gain trust here,” one user said. Others are being sarcastic with remarks like, “We’ll get GTA 6 before One UI 7.0.” For now, the wait continues, and so does the skepticism. Users just want clear answers and timely updates. Until Samsung speaks up, this leak is all they’ve got to chew on.
