Marvel Rivals players are growing increasingly frustrated with severe performance issues and frequent crashes that have made the game difficult, if not impossible, to enjoy. Players have taken to X and Reddit with complaints about lag spikes, graphical glitches, and server instability issues. What’s worse is that these problems seem to have persisted months after the game’s launch.
One common issue reported by players is severe lag during matches. Users have described experiencing unplayable delays lasting up to 30 seconds, with characters teleporting back to spawn points or attacks registering several seconds late. “Anybody else having MASSIVE lag spikes? Like unplayable for 15-20 seconds?” wrote one user on X. Another player vented, “PLS GOD FIX THE LAG AND GAME DELAY.” There are many similar posts on X that were posted in the past few hours.
The game’s hero abilities also appear to be contributing to the problem. Players frequently point to Doctor Strange’s portal ability as a major culprit, claiming it causes significant frame rate drops and overheats even high-end PCs. “Honestly, Marvel Rivals should disable Dr. Strange until they fix the portal lag,” posted one player, adding, “My computer is pretty good, and that move literally makes it feel like it’s going to explode.”
Lag isn’t the only problem though. Players are also troubled by crashes across different hardware setups, from modest gaming rigs to powerful systems equipped with RTX 30-series GPUs. These crashes often come with penalties in ranked matches, further aggravating players who are unable to rejoin their games. “I get a penalty because the game crashes out. No thank you. Your game sucks,” one angry player wrote. Others echoed this frustration, calling for the developers to address the underlying issues before imposing penalties for what they can’t control.
The developers of Marvel Rivals have yet to respond in detail to these complaints. So it’s unclear how long it’ll take for a fix to arrive. That said, we’ll keep a close eye on the situation and will update the article if and when there are any further developments.
