Sonos is back at it with another update to its mobile app, and this time, it’s music to our iPhones’ batteries. The company has rolled out a new update designed to address some of the pesky problems that have been bothering users since the app’s redesign.

If you’ve been fretting over your iPhone’s battery life, fret no more. Sonos has rolled out a fresh update to its iPhone app as version 80.05.05, promising to address that pesky battery drain issue since the July 22 update. The new update promises to be much kinder to your phone’s battery life, so you can enjoy your tunes without worrying about running out of juice.

But that’s not all! Sonos has also tweaked the app to make adding new products a smoother experience. There have been reports of users getting “No products found” error when adding new products. This update might be your lucky charm. Unlike battery life, this fix is rolling out to Android as well, arriving as v80.05.07.

To top it off, your Sonos speakers are also getting some love with a new firmware update version 80.1-55172. This update is packed with improvements aimed at making your listening experience smoother and more responsive. As promised, this update will now make volume changes more instantaneous, adding new songs to your queue should be quicker under certain conditions, and you’ll find local library browsing less prone to timing out.

Below is the full changelog:

    In this update:

    • Improves stability when adding new products
    • Addresses an issue where the app used excess phone battery

We’ve also released firmware version 80.1-55172 for Sonos products which contains the following changes:

    • Improves responsiveness of volume changes
    • Improves time to add a new song to the queue in certain conditions
    • Addresses an issue with local library browsing timing out

Sonos has been on a mission to improve the app since its redesign, and this latest update shows their commitment to listening to user feedback. With bi-weekly updates, it looks like Sonos is determined to make things right.

So, if you’ve been experiencing any of these issues, head over to Google Play or App Store and grab the latest update. Your phone and your Sonos system will thank you.
