Samsung appears to be moving forward with internal testing for its upcoming One UI 7 update, with test firmware spotted for several devices including the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy Tab S9 FE. Screenshots shared on Reddit via the CheckFirm app reveal early builds of the software, hinting at progress toward a public release.

The firmware details, first discussed in a Reddit thread on r/oneui, show test versions labeled for devices like the SM-S906E (Galaxy S22), SM-F741B (Galaxy Z Flip 6), SM-A556E (Galaxy A55), and SM-X5168 (Galaxy Tab S9 FE).

The OP pointed out that the Galaxy S22’s test firmware was detected on January 17, followed by the Z Flip 6 on January 23, and the A55 more recently. This aligns with Samsung’s history of rolling out major updates first to its premium devices.

“If I get One UI 7 with the February security patch, I’ll be happy,” ElectronicsAhoy added, referencing their experience with One UI 6 arriving alongside a November 2023 security update. Samsung did confirm that the One UI 7.0 rollout for all eligible Galaxy ‘S’ series devices should be completed by March, 2025. So it makes sense that internal tests are already underway.

Firmware version codes, such as shifts from “A” to “B” in build numbers, often indicate major updates. This is something that you can see in the screenshots above as well.

With One UI 7.0 test firmware already being spotted, Samsung fans can likely expect a staggered rollout starting with the Galaxy S22 and Z Flip 6, followed by mid-range models like the A55 and tablets. As always, broader availability will depend on regional variations and carrier approvals.

For now, keep an eye on those update notifications — your Galaxy device might soon join the One UI 7 era.
