If you’ve been asking Siri to turn off your Philips Hue lights before bed only to hear mumbling and see nothing happen, you’re not alone. A wave of users started reporting that their Hue devices suddenly show “No Response” in Apple Home, even though the lights work fine when controlled through the Hue app itself.

The problem kicked off around a few days ago for many people, with some experiencing it as early as last week. One frustrated user on r/Hue complained about how their 35 Hue lights and switches became unresponsive in Apple Home once or twice daily, requiring both the Hue Bridge Pro and Apple TV to be restarted just to get things working again temporarily.

What makes this particularly annoying is that it affects both the older Hue Bridge v2 and the newer Bridge Pro. The Bridge Pro launched in September 2025 as a $90 upgrade promising better performance and storage, but it only connects to Apple Home through Matter instead of the direct HomeKit integration that the v2 bridge offers. Some users who upgraded to the Pro are now regretting the switch.

According to a post on r/Hue from user alanjhogan, both Philips Hue and Apple support representatives confirmed this is a known issue. The reps indicated that Apple is working on a fix, though there’s no timeline yet. Alexa integration is apparently affected too, which points to something broken on the Matter side of things.

One user on r/philipshue mentioned their system completely detached from Apple Home on its own, with the integration disappearing from both apps. After getting no timely help from Hue support, they turned to Grok for answers and tried removing CGNAT from their ISP to get a static public IP, then configured their router’s IPv6 connection to use a 6to4 tunnel. It worked for about 24 hours before the lights disconnected again.

Users who still have the v2 bridge and use native HomeKit instead of Matter report better reliability. The Bridge Pro forces Matter-only connections, and several people noted performance downgrades after switching. Lights that used to turn on simultaneously now activate one by one in a “popcorn effect,” and scenes sometimes display the wrong colors in Apple Home.

For now, some affected users are looking at workarounds like running Home Assistant or Homebridge to translate between Hue and Apple Home, avoiding the buggy Matter path entirely. Others have given up on HomeKit and switched to Alexa, though that comes with its own privacy tradeoffs.

That said, we’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and will update the article accordingly.
