Reddit’s end-of-year Recap is back for 2024! If you’re into seeing all your random (and occasionally questionable) Reddit habits summed up in one neat package, now’s your chance. But before you dive in, let’s talk about how to access it, and a few quirks you might encounter along the way.

First things first, Recap isn’t available on the desktop. Yep, it’s mobile-only this year, so grab your phone or tablet. You’ll need the Reddit app, updated to the latest version, to see your stats. When you open the Reddit app, you should be able to see the recap pop-up automatically.

However, if you don’t see the Recap icon, a cute little banana 🍌, at the top of your Reddit app, it’s probably time for an update. Head over to the Google Play Store if you’re on Android or the App Store for iOS to grab the latest version. Once you’ve updated, open the app, and the banana icon should appear in the top bar. Tap it, and just like that, your personalized Reddit Recap will load, giving you a rundown of your 2024 Reddit activity. It’s a fun (and maybe slightly embarrassing) way to see your year in review.

If the banana icon doesn’t show up, try refreshing the app or restarting it. Still no luck? Reinstalling the app might do the trick. For desktop-only users, there’s a workaround. Some Redditors have had success using Android emulators like BlueStacks to download the Reddit app and view their Recap. It’s a bit of extra effort, but hey, desperate times call for creative solutions.

Curious about what your favorite communities have been up to? Visit r/recap. Not all subreddits will have their own Recaps, but it’s worth taking a look. Just keep in mind that this page is only live for 24 hours, so don’t sleep on it!

That said, not everyone’s thrilled about this year’s Recap. Some users on r/recap called it “boring” compared to previous years, and others said they missed the better-designed cards from last year. It seems like Reddit’s attempt to keep things fresh may have backfired for some. If you’re feeling the same, you’re not alone.
