OneUI 8 changes Wallpaper by itself every da,

If you’ve been unlocking your phone only to find your Samsung Galaxy’s wallpaper mysteriously reverted to its default background, you’re not alone. It’s been happening for about a week now, and people are starting to realize they’re not the only ones affected.
The issue showed up on Samsung’s European community forums when user Chris_F_Design mentioned that the new color-changing dynamic wallpaper would just randomly switch back to default “for no particular reason.”
Since then, more people have jumped into multiple threads to say they’re seeing the same thing on their phones.
What’s really odd is the timing. Some say it happens somewhere between 4 am and 6 am. VishnuKulanada posted in one thread that their Samsung wallpaper app crashes “at the exact same time daily” on their Galaxy S25 Ultra. When it happens, both the home screen and lock screen go back to Samsung’s default, and you have to fix it manually.
This isn’t just hitting flagship phones either. People with the S24 series, S25 series, S23 series, and even mid-range models like the Galaxy A55 and A26 are reporting it. Over on Reddit, one S24 Ultra owner said they “genuinely thought that i was going crazy” before finding out others had the problem too.
Interestingly, a few users who were part of the One UI 8 beta testing say they never had the problem during the beta. It only started after the stable release dropped, or more recently after some update. Some thought maybe it was a routine or a third-party wallpaper app causing trouble, but users confirmed they don’t have anything like that set up.
Samsung hasn’t said anything official about it yet. Since dynamic wallpapers are constantly changing colors throughout the day, there might be something going wrong with how the system handles those background processes.
Right now, people are either switching to static wallpapers or reporting the bug through the Samsung Members app. Hopefully Samsung pushes out a fix soon, because having to reset your wallpaper every day is pretty annoying.
