Samsung’s foldable flagship, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, has been making waves in the tech world, but it seems even the best-designed devices can have their quirks. A growing number of users have reported issues with their phones’ inner screens becoming unresponsive, leading to frustration and concern.
While the problem might seem alarming, it’s important to note that the number of reported cases is still relatively small compared to the overall number of Z Flip 6 units likely sold by now. It’s possible that these are isolated incidents or issues specific to an early batch of devices.
A few users have described the problem as a sudden, unexplained loss of touch responsiveness on the inner screen. Some have even reported the screen completely freezing, requiring a hard reset to restore functionality. Others have mentioned experiencing similar issues with the outer screen or charging port.
So, what’s causing this? The exact cause of this issue remains unclear, but it seems to be software-related since restarting the device often brings the screen back to life, at least temporarily. Some users have reported that performing a cache clear or a hard reset can help, but these solutions are not always foolproof. A few unlucky owners have had to send their devices in for repairs, with some even needing screen replacements.
But before you start thinking that every Flip 6 is doomed, it’s important to note that the number of reports is relatively small. Samsung has sold millions of these devices, and only a tiny fraction seem to be affected. This isn’t uncommon for new tech, especially with first-batch units, which often have a higher chance of encountering issues. Early adopters are sometimes the unwitting testers of a device’s resilience, and it seems the Flip 6 is no exception.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Samsung’s foldable phones have faced issues. Previous models, like the Galaxy Z Flip 4, have also had their share of problems, including unexpected shutdowns. There have also been reports of hinge noises on the Z Flip 6. However, Samsung has consistently worked to address these issues through software updates and improvements in subsequent models.
Samsung has not acknowledged the issue even though some believe a software update can address it. But in the meantime, if you’re experiencing this problem, don’t hesitate to reach out to Samsung support for assistance or to initiate a warranty claim.

This happened to me with my z flip 6 after a month. Samsung is currently charging me $350 to repair it even though it seems to be a known issue and under warranty? I'm sure there will be plenty more. This is just month 1. Stay away from samsung. Used to be a mega fan.
