Many users with Samsung Galaxy phones have taken to the company’s support forums and Reddit to report about their frustrating experience with Bluetooth connectivity after the One UI 7 update. Frustration is growing among many, particularly those with the popular Galaxy S22 Ultra, S21 Ultra, and even some Z Fold models, who are experiencing unreliable connections with everything from car infotainment systems to earbuds and smartwatches.

The issues, which began surfacing weeks ago following the rollout of One UI 7, appear to manifest in various ways. Many users describe intermittent connections, where Bluetooth devices will connect for a short period before dropping off. Others find their phones refuse to connect at all, even after repeated attempts. A common temporary fix involves restarting the phone, but this often provides only a brief reprieve, with problems resurfacing once the device is disconnected and an attempt is made to reconnect.

One user, “MIDTECHoldie” on Samsung’s community forums, shared their experience. “New here, received the ui7 update, since then Bluetooth devices connect intermittently. I have to restart my phone before they connect again. Sometimes it seems like they are connected, then I answer a call or make a call, and the Bluetooth device will not pick up the call.” Many others were quick to chime in, noting that they too have been facing similar problems following the update.

For instance, user “Nytshade79,” mentioned — “I can get mine to connect to audio but not calls. I unpaired my car hoping it would fix it, but now I can’t re-pair my car. It shows up in my available devices list but won’t connect.” This suggests a deeper problem than simple pairing issues, with some devices becoming completely unpairable after an initial attempt to troubleshoot.

The difficulties extend beyond just audio and calls. Reports on Reddit indicate general connectivity failures. “Ever since the latest update, my S22 Ultra hasn’t been able to hold a stable connection with any device,” stated user “IWasLegitOnce” on the r/oneui subreddit. “My car Bluetooth, which before the update worked fine, no longer works. My watch, which before the update worked fine, no longer works. Any Bluetooth keyboard just doesn’t pair.”

This isn’t even the first time we’ve reported on Bluetooth issues on One UI 7. During the beta testing, we did highlight an issue with Bluetooth connectivity for users who also owned Galaxy Watches. So it’s possible that the Bluetooth issues weren’t properly patched before Samsung rolled out the stable update.

While some users have attempted workarounds, such as clearing the cache partition, resetting network settings, or even toggling obscure developer options like “Bluetooth SAP Activation,” these solutions have largely proven to be temporary or ineffective for most. The general consensus among affected users is a desperate need for a permanent fix from Samsung. Many are left wondering why a critical feature like Bluetooth would be so severely impacted by a software update, urging Samsung to prioritize a patch.

We’ll keep tabs on the situation and will post an update if and when there’s something to share. In the meantime, feel free to let us know if you managed to find a workaround for the issue. You can share it in the comments below to help other affected users. Thanks in advance!
