The Shop Samsung app, designed to provide a seamless shopping experience for Samsung users, has been acting more like a gremlin lately, freezing and crashing phones and leaving users exasperated. While the issue seems to be particularly rampant among Samsung Galaxy S24 series users, a couple of owners of other Samsung Galaxy devices have also reported experiencing this frustrating glitch.

According to reports, the Shop Samsung app freezes and completely locks users out of their Galaxy S24 units. The phone gets stuck on a loading screen, leaving users unable to do anything until the phone decides to restart itself. One user says their S24 unit “throws a tantrum whenever I use the Shop Samsung app” and “crashes so frequently” to a point that they’ve resorted to using the website instead.

The complaints are consistent: the Shop Samsung app freezes, crashes, and becomes unresponsive, sometimes even affecting the entire phone’s functionality. While this issue has been wreaking havoc for several days, it seems to have reared its ugly head at the start of a recent sale, leaving users unable to take advantage of the deals.

Even a Samsung Care Ambassador acknowledged the issue in the community forum, confirming that it’s a “known issue” and advising users to use the website as a temporary workaround. However, this is hardly a satisfactory solution for users who expect a smooth and reliable experience from a dedicated shopping app. It’s even more frustrating given the raw power of the Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung has yet to release an official statement or provide a timeline for a fix, leaving users in limbo and unsure of when they can expect a resolution. In the meantime, those affected are left with the frustrating choice of either risking a frozen phone or abandoning the app altogether and resorting to the website.

The app’s Play Store reviews suggest this issue is relatively new, but some users claim not even the most recent update helped fix the issue. Whether the glitch stems from a recent app update or server-side changes remains unclear. However, this incident highlights the importance of thorough testing and timely updates for apps, especially when they’re tied to a brand’s reputation and customer satisfaction.

For now, Shop Samsung app users are left hoping that the company will address this annoying freezing and crashing issue promptly and restore the app’s functionality so they can shop without fear of their phones going on strike.
