Samsung has just dropped some snooze-worthy news for our friends up north. If you’ve ever struggled to catch those elusive Zs, the tech giant has your back — or more accurately, your wrist. As of today, the Sleep Apnea feature on the Galaxy Watch has officially made its way to Canada, giving users an extra layer of support for a healthier night’s sleep.

This new addition to Samsung’s already impressive lineup of sleep tech is more than just a bedtime buddy. It’s a certified lifesaver — literally. With a Medical Device License from Health Canada, the Sleep Apnea feature is designed to detect signs of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OSA is a sneaky condition that can go undiagnosed for years, silently impacting your health. But Samsung’s got a high-tech solution that’s easy to use. Just wear your Galaxy Watch for a couple of nights, and it’ll do the rest, tracking your sleep and analyzing the data to flag any potential issues.

Here’s how it works: Simply track your sleep for more than four hours on two separate nights within a ten-day period, and the watch will detect signs of sleep apnea. This feature is available for users over the age of 22 who haven’t been previously diagnosed with the condition.

Samsung isn’t just stopping at sleep apnea detection. They’re going all-in on sleep wellness with a slew of updates to the Samsung Health app and their Galaxy Ring. The app now offers a Sleep environment report, which analyzes factors like temperature, humidity, and light intensity in your room, giving you actionable tips to create the perfect sleep sanctuary.

Feeling like your sleep schedule is a bit chaotic? The new Sleep time guidance feature has your back. It suggests optimal bedtimes based on your unique sleep patterns and daily habits. And if you need a little help winding down, the Mindfulness tracker offers mood monitoring, breathing exercises, and guided meditations, all wrapped up in one easy-to-use tracker.

Oh, and let’s not forget about the Galaxy Ring’s stylish expansion. With two new larger sizes — 14 and 15 — and a sleek lineup of colors (Titanium Black, Silver, and Gold), Samsung ensures everyone can find their perfect fit. The ring, which has already taken 38 markets by storm, is now expanding to 15 more, including Japan, New Zealand, and Singapore. The Ring has also hit the African market for the first time through South Africa and Zambia.

Starting January 22, you can get your hands on the new Galaxy Ring sizes. Not sure about your fit? No worries! Samsung offers a free sizing kit on their website or at nearby stores.
