If you’ve recently tried to post something from your Instagram drafts, you might be in for a surprise—or a headache. Since Instagram’s latest update, a section of users has reported issues with their drafts mysteriously refusing to cooperate. What was once a handy tool for saving posts for later has now become a glitchy mess, leaving some creators in a bind.

The issue? For some users, their drafts have become practically inaccessible. Tapping on the drafts option might give you hope at first, but instead of being able to edit or post the draft, all they get is the option to delete. Others report the app stubbornly reverting back to the most recent photo in their camera roll, while some just can’t even find their drafts at all.

It’s frustrating for anyone who uses Instagram regularly, but for those managing brands or businesses, the problem goes from annoying to catastrophic. Some users are sitting on dozens of drafts, with captions, hashtags, and edits all locked away, waiting to be posted — and Instagram seems to have thrown away the key.

The timing of this issue isn’t lost on anyone. Instagram picked up a recent update on mobile devices that some suspect could be the culprit. It first arrived on Android earlier this week, but iOS users have just started receiving a new version. It appears this latest version on iOS is the culprit, but it’s still too early to say. While Instagram hasn’t acknowledged the glitch (and let’s face it, they might just be hoping it goes away quietly), the affected users are growing louder.

Interestingly, not everyone is experiencing the issue. Some lucky folks like yours truly are still happily posting their drafts without a hitch, which makes things even more confusing. Is it an iOS bug or a mysterious cosmic glitch affecting only certain accounts? Right now, it’s anyone’s guess.

In the meantime, if you’re one of the lucky users whose drafts are still working, treasure them. You never know when Instagram might decide to pull a fast one on you too.

Cannot access my drafts since Friday evening. Very frustrating as I have many saved posts for my business page

Happened to me this morning after the automatic update. I reported the problem to instagram but am not holding my breath. Now I'm trying to remember how each post was edited and what the caption was, so I can post them one at a time. Very disappointing and a huge time suck.

This problem has happened to me, after the recent update. Instagram user testing before release must’ve picked up the glitch, so it can hardly be an error l

This is happening to me. I can only open carousel drafts, but not my single picture ones. So frustrating! I just did the latest update this morning and now this.
