Some Spotify users have been facing an issue with the On Repeat playlist not updating for a few days now. The automated playlist, designed to showcase a listener’s most-streamed songs over a rolling period, typically updates every few days. But since mid-February, users across forums, social media, and Reddit have reported their playlists stuck in time, with some noting their “Repeat Rewind” playlists are also affected.
The issue appears fairly widespread, with complaints popping up on Spotify’s community forums and spilling over to platforms like Reddit and X. One user on Spotify’s forum sarcastically called it the “annual ‘Not updating’” glitch, suggesting recurring technical problems with the feature.
Others mentioned that troubleshooting steps like restarting, clearing cache, and reinstalling were not helpful. A Reddit thread titled “On Repeat not updating?” gained traction this week, with several confirming facing the same issue. One user claimed they intentionally listened to new albums to trigger an update but saw no changes, calling it a “user-wide bug.”
Spotify confirmed the problem is under investigation. A moderator on the company’s forum acknowledged reports about both “On Repeat” and a single case involving “Repeat Rewind,” telling users, “The teams are looking into this at the moment.”
On X, the official @SpotifyCares account replied to a concerned listener this week, stating, “Our developers are looking into this as we speak. Hopefully we’ll have a fix soon.” However, the company has not provided a timeline for resolution or detailed the root cause.
We’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments. In the meantime, feel free to let us know if you’ve found a workaround to the problem or not.
