Update 29/11/24 02:00 pm (IST): Spotify has begun teasing users with pop-ups and notifications pointing towards the upcoming Wrapped 2024.

Update 26/11/24 03:34 pm(IST): Another interesting fact that we’ve spotted is the fact that Spotify released Wrapped on a Wednesday for the past three years. This could mean that we might just get to see Spotify Wrapped 2024 tomorrow, i.e., November 27, which falls on a Wednesday. Furthermore, there are rumors about Spotify sending out emails to podcasters for Wrapped 2024. So hang in there, we’re sure it’s coming soon!

Original article published on November 20, 2024, follows:

If you’ve been on X recently, you’ve probably noticed a flood of posts asking the same thing: When is Spotify Wrapped 2024 dropping? While Spotify fans are anxiously waiting, YouTube Music users are already flexing their 2024 Recap stats, adding fuel to the impatience.

Spotify Wrapped has become a cultural event over the years, with users eagerly anticipating the yearly summary of their listening habits. From discovering your most-streamed artist (we see you, Swifties and ARMYs) to uncovering niche genres you didn’t even know existed, Wrapped offers a unique way to relive your year in music.

But let’s be real — Spotify Wrapped’s late November/early December drop date feels agonizingly far away when platforms like YouTube Music are already handing out their Recap.

If history is anything to go by, Spotify Wrapped will likely arrive in the last week of November. Over the past five years, it has consistently dropped between November 29 and December 5:

This pattern strongly hints at a release in the coming days. Still, the wait has users on edge, with X flooded with posts like:

  • So when is spotify wrapped coming out (Source)
  • When will someone spotify wrap me in their arms (Source)
  • When is spotify wrapped. i need to prove to the world that i am the #1 fan of my favorite band. (Source)
  • When do they stop tracking for Spotify Wrapped? I’m trying to make Justin Bieber my most listened to artist. Is it too late????? (Source)

One user even went as far as creating their own version of Spotify Wrapped:

Meanwhile, YouTube Music is having its moment. Users are sharing their Recap stats, complete with top songs, artists, and even mood-based playlists. But that’s not all, YouTube users are now even seeing their Gaming Recap for the year. Naturally, some Spotify fans are feeling the FOMO, while others are sticking to their guns, confident Wrapped will blow Recap out of the water.

One user summed it up perfectly: “My YouTube Music recap came in and ‘Die with a Smile’ is my second most-streamed song 🥹. But if ‘A Bar Song’ isn’t in my Spotify Wrapped top 3, it’s fake.”

As a Spotify user myself, I totally get the hype — and the impatience. I’m dying to find out how many hours I spent listening to Joe Rogan and what’s the number one track I’ve been pumping iron to this year.

So, for those refreshing Spotify’s app daily hoping for Wrapped to magically appear: hang tight. Based on previous years, we’re in the final countdown. Until then, why not queue up your favorite tracks for a last-minute boost? Who knows, it might just tip the scales on your Wrapped stats.

Whether your 2024 soundtrack was all about Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) or deep-diving into niche K-pop, Spotify Wrapped will soon give you the ultimate snapshot of your year in music. And judging by the buzz online, it can’t come soon enough.

What are you most excited to see in your Spotify Wrapped? Or are you already regretting those late-night guilty pleasure binges? Let’s hear it!
