EA says it’s investigating widespread reports of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes crashing on iOS devices following a recent update. The popular mobile game has been experiencing significant issues, particularly affecting iPhone users, since the rollout of its latest version.

According to user reports, the game is force-closing shortly after launch or during gameplay, rendering it unplayable for many. The problem seems to be particularly prevalent among iPhone 15 users, though other iOS devices have also been affected.

EA’s development team, Capital Games, acknowledged the issue in an official statement, noting that they are working closely with Apple to identify and resolve the problem. “There is a current issue between Apple’s iOS and our new Update that will not allow you to get into the game,” the statement read. “We will be contacting Apple to figure out a resolution.”

In the meantime, the developers have suggested a temporary workaround for affected users: uninstalling and reinstalling the game. While this solution has proven effective for some players, others report that the issue persists or returns after a short period of gameplay.

Further investigation by some players has revealed that the crashes may be related to in-game audio settings and background app audio. Some users have found success by ensuring that in-game sound is not disabled and avoiding playing audio from other apps while the game is running.

Naturally, this situation has left many players expressing concern about potential loss of progress or inability to participate in time-sensitive in-game events. One player commented, “I reinstalled it three times so far. Annoying. It works for a while then starts force closing again.”

EA has not provided a timeline for a permanent fix but has assured players that their team and Apple are actively working on the problem. We’ll just have to wait for an official follow-up to know the status of the fix. As usual, we’ll update the article if and when there’s something worth sharing, so consider bookmarking this page to stay updated.
