Telstra Australia is currently investigating an issue that has left some users of its popular BigPond email service unable to access their accounts. The problem, which primarily affects the web-based email interface, has been acknowledged by the telecommunications giant, and efforts are underway to resolve it as quickly as possible.
User reports suggest that they haven’t able to login to their accounts and the issue has been going on for at least 2 hours. Affected users have reported that after entering their credentials, the login page simply refreshes without granting access. Others have noted that even when using email clients like Outlook, which was initially suggested as a workaround, they are repeatedly prompted for their usernames and passwords, despite entering the correct information. Telstra later updated that this workaround is no longer reliable.
In an official statement posted on X, Telstra confirmed the outage: “We’ve picked up an issue affecting some customers trying to access their BigPond/Telstra Mail via the web. Our team’s on it, and we hope to have you back in your inbox soon.” The company also provided a follow-up message, stating, “Initially some customers were able to use an app like Outlook to access their inbox, however this is no longer working reliably. We’ll keep you posted here as soon as we have an update.”
There’s no ETA for a proper fix, but it’s likely that the service should be restored shortly. We’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and will update the article if and when there’s something to share.

My Email has not been working for a couple of days now. It just asks for password and then wont accept it. The password I have was given to me by Telstra after my computer was hacked. I had a factory reset ages ago.
