The latest hotfix for The First Descendant has wreaked havoc on the auto aim assist feature for console players. The v1.0.7 update, intended to smooth out gameplay, has instead left many controller users struggling to target enemies effectively.

Players report that since the update, the auto aim now aggressively locks onto the center of boss enemies, making it nearly impossible to target weak points or specific areas. One player complained, “I actually couldn’t look away from [the boss] at some points, even when I wasn’t aiming.”

The issue appears to affect both PlayStation and Xbox users, with some PC gamers using controllers also experiencing problems. Many players have expressed frustration at the sudden change, especially since the auto aim functioned properly before the update.

“Somehow the auto aim on the controller no longer works properly since the hotfix,” one Steam user reported. “Now… the auto aim is constantly focused on the center of the boss, which means that you can’t even aim properly.”

While the developers have yet to officially address the problem, I noticed some players have found common temporary workarounds. These include:

  1. Turning off aim assist completely.
  2. Lowering aim assist sensitivity to 30-50%.
  3. Reducing overall controller sensitivity.

However, these solutions are far from ideal, as many console players rely on some level of aim assist for precise targeting with analog sticks.

The community is calling for a quick fix from the development team. As one player put it, “This is so unbelievable that with every damn hotfix, new serious bugs appear.”

For now, affected players may need to adjust their settings or wait for an official patch. Here’s hoping The First Descendant team can get their aim straight and fix this issue soon.
