Original article published on June 26, 2025, follows:

Spotify users using the web platform seem to have noticed a weird bug today. Reports indicate that Spotify’s web player is only displaying the first 25 songs in any given playlist. This strange behavior has left users puzzled, with many taking to Reddit and the Spotify Community forum to voice their frustration.

Normally, when you open a playlist on Spotify’s web interface, you can scroll through and see all the tracks, no matter how long the list. But as of today, playlists seem to be capped at a mere 25 songs, with the total song count also incorrectly showing 25. This is happening regardless of the playlist’s actual length, even for those with hundreds of tracks.

“Starting today June 26th, every playlist, mine or someone else’s, I click on only shows the top 25 songs and in the song total – it will say 25 regardless of what the total actually is and will only display up to the 25th song,” wrote one user, Tirana_beat, on the Spotify Community forum. They added that they experienced the issue on both Chrome and Edge browsers on Windows 11.

The problem doesn’t seem to be limited to free accounts either. While some initially speculated it might be a new restriction for non-Premium users, Premium subscribers are also reporting the same issue.

Another user, loploni573, shared their dismay, stating, “This playlist had 55 songs… but now it only has 25. It’s like both playlists got shaved of all songs (songs deleted from list) except the first 25.” They also expressed concern about having to manually find all their “missing” songs.

Despite the limited display, some users, like Neko_ChanOwO, have noticed a curious workaround. “Even tho only the first 25 Songs are shown for me, all the other songs are still shown and played in the waiting list for the next songs,” they commented. This suggests the songs aren’t actually gone, just not visible in the main playlist view.

Apart from this main thread on the Spotify community, there are discussions on Reddit too where you can participate.

The good news is that Spotify is aware of the problem. A Spotify Star, MattSuda, confirmed on the community forum that they were able to reproduce the bug and have already reported it internally. “I will keep you all updated,” they assured users. So, for now, it appears to be a bug rather than a new, drastic change to how playlists are displayed.
