If you’ve noticed your videos turning into a glitched mess after sending them through WhatsApp, you’re not alone. A growing number of users, especially those with Samsung phones, are reporting glitches that make their shared videos unwatchable. The problem seems to pop up across different models, from the brand-new S25 Ultra to older devices like the S10.

Take S_Kumar73, for example. They recorded a video on their S25 Ultra and sent it to friends via WhatsApp. The feedback? It wasn’t playing smoothly and had noticeable glitches. Oddly, when they shared a video from their S23 Ultra, everything was fine. This has left users wondering what’s causing the issue — could it be the camera, the phone’s software, or WhatsApp itself?

On Reddit, a user named -Thari- posted, “Since the latest update on april 4th or something, I can’t really send self recorded videos anymore because they all end up looking like this.” They’re using a Galaxy S25 Ultra too, and the videos look normal when shared through Telegram. It’s only WhatsApp where things go wrong. Another user, rose7726 on Reddit, claimed to notice the same problem from their mom’s Galaxy A50, saying, “Since today all the videos she sends me look like this.”

From what I was able to observe in the shared videos, it seems the videos get glitched out, particularly on the right side. So, what’s the deal? The evidence points to WhatsApp’s video compression or encoding, which might not play nice with certain Samsung devices. The original videos are fine, and other apps like Telegram don’t have the same problem. Some suspect a recent WhatsApp update might be the culprit, especially since the issue spans devices running different Android versions, from 11 to the latest One UI on the S25 Ultra.

Users have tried a few fixes. Selecting “HD quality” before sending helps some, but not everyone — like rose7726 — has had luck with it. Reinstalling WhatsApp or tweaking camera settings hasn’t worked consistently either. I tested this on non-Samsung devices, but the videos I sent through WhatsApp came out smooth, no glitches. That suggests the problem is indeed tied to Samsung models.

For now, there’s no perfect solution. You could try sharing videos through apps like Telegram or uploading them to a cloud service and sending a link. It’s not ideal, but it works. We’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments.
