Wrestling fans eager to step into the ring as Pat McAfee in WWE 2K24 on PlayStation 5 have encountered an unexpected obstacle. The highly anticipated Pat McAfee Show Pack, released today, is currently unavailable for PS5 users, leaving many frustrated and confused.
2K Games, the developer behind WWE 2K24, has acknowledged the issue on their official X account. “We’re aware the Pat McAfee Pack is not currently available on PS5. The team is investigating the issue, and we’ll share an update as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!” the statement read.
The DLC pack, which includes Pat McAfee and his “DAWGS” crew as playable characters, was set to bring gridiron greatness to the squared circle. However, PS5 owners report being unable to access the content, even those with the Season Pass or special editions of the game that should include the DLC.
One user on Reddit summed up the frustration: “Says I need to purchase season pass, which I have. No option to download. Wtf? They push it back a week & now this. Smh.”
While Xbox users seem unaffected, the PS5 community has been left waiting. Some players have reported trying various workarounds, such as restoring licenses or restarting their consoles, but to no avail.
Interestingly, a potential temporary solution to use some new moves like the Hidden Blade has emerged from the community. Redditor BenisBen247 suggests: “Go to the move and preview it, once you do that click X/A/whatever button it is and you can use it without having the dlc. Have fun:)” While this may allow access to some new moves, it doesn’t unlock the full DLC experience.
The Pat McAfee Show Pack is the third DLC for WWE 2K24, following the ECW Punk Pack and Post Malone & Friends Pack. It introduces Pat McAfee, AJ Hawk, Darius Butler, Ty Schmit, and “Boston” Connor as playable characters, along with over 15 new moves and taunts.
As fans wait for a fix, 2K Games has not provided an estimated timeframe for resolving the issue. The situation has led to calls for compensation from some players, with one Reddit user stating, “If they don’t fix it then we better get some kind of reimbursement.”
Granted the issue has already been acknowledged a few hours ago, it’s likely that we’ll see 2K Games getting PS5 players in the ring with Pat McAfee and his DAWGS soon.
