For the past few hours, X users have been experiencing a significant hiccup with its push notification system. Reports about issues with notifications have flooded the platform itself, while some have even taken to Reddit to seek help.
The problem seems to be widespread, affecting various types of notifications. Users have noted that they aren’t receiving alerts for new followers, mentions, or even posts from accounts they follow. This has led to a sense of disconnect for many who rely on these instant updates to stay engaged.
User @TsukiExist posted, “Notifications are broken haven’t been getting any for hours now wtf.” Another user, @_marienkind, bluntly stated, “FIX YOUR F***ING NOTIFICATIONS TWITTER.” The frustration is palpable, as users are missing conversations and interactions that are key to the X experience.
Here’s a screenshot of more such reports:
As @_marienkind implied, timely notifications are crucial. Even simple acknowledgments seem to be affected; I personally missed a notification for a like on a recent post. But while I haven’t been able to test this extensively, the sheer volume of similar complaints online strongly suggests a widespread bug.
One user on the r/Twitter subreddit, Plastic_Bank_6623, shared, “I haven’t been getting any X notifications lately no follow, no like, nothing.” Another Redditor, Unusual-Ad4890, commented that the system has been “broken across the board and has been for about 6 hours.”
For a platform built on real-time information and engagement, a disruption to its notification service is a considerable problem. X is yet to officially address the situation, but I expect that a fix will be arriving shortly. Feel free to drop a comment below in case the issue has been fixed for you.
