It seems some users on X have noticed that the ‘Show’ button, which is meant to reveal the hidden media in sensitive content posts, does nothing when tapped on. It’s frustrating, especially if you’re trying to catch up on art, memes, or anything else flagged as mature.

Judging by reports online, the bug popped up a few days ago, leaving users frustrated. Take @lordgriseous, who posted a screenshot earlier this week asking why the button suddenly stopped responding.

Then there’s @22Brew22Crew22, who mentioned he couldn’t view spoilers or other flagged stuff despite having his settings dialed in to allow it. Similar complaints popped up from @sunskcrypt, and plenty more like @Jokez_PlayzYT, who even tried reinstalling the app without luck.

Over on Reddit’s r/Twitter community, threads are popping up about the same problem. Some people are even linking the problem to regulations in the EU. However, it seems this likely isn’t the case because reports are coming in from around the world, including from folks in the US.

Luckily, the seems to be a way to get around the problem. A fix, posted by @oohsehyoonhwa, involves heading to X’s website on a browser, logging in, and unchecking the box under privacy settings that hides sensitive media. Once done, the “Show” button should start working again in the app.

Some users have already confirmed that this did the trick for them. So give it a shot and let me know if it works for you. That said, this bug isn’t even the biggest issue on X at the moment. Earlier today, we reported how Grok landed itself in hot water and even got suspended on X due to alleged comments on the Gaza situation. Then, there’s Elon Musk’s threat against Apple, claiming xAI would sue the Cupertino giant for favoring ChatGPT on the App Store. So yeah, it seems like it’s going to be a long week ahead for the folks at X.
