If you opened YouTube recently expecting your usual endless scroll of video recommendations, you might have been met with… nothing. A blank space where your tailored feed should be. You’re definitely not alone. Numerous users have flocked to social media platforms like Reddit and X over the past few hours to report a strange bug leaving their YouTube homepages empty or severely broken.

Reports describe the homepage appearing completely blank, sometimes showing only three or four random videos, or occasionally just rows of Shorts. Users indicate it’s happening across various devices, including PCs using different browsers, Android apps, and iPads.

One user, KalebKJC on Reddit, linked the problem to a potential new user interface rollout, stating, “Ever since YouTube tried to switch me over to the new UI, my homepage has been completely broken and won’t even load any videos no matter what device I use or what I do.” They added that common fixes like clearing cache, reinstalling apps, and switching browsers haven’t helped. Another user, Puffen0, commented, “Okay so its not just me then. On my end its only showing 3 or 4 videos at a time… Edit: make that no videos now….”

The troubleshooting steps suggested by YouTube’s support account on X, like clearing cache and cookies or updating the app, don’t seem to be resolving the issue for many affected users. Some users, like WSBTossAccount on Reddit, noted that while their phone apps and PC browser versions were broken, the app on their Xbox strangely worked fine. The inconsistency adds another layer to the mystery.

Interestingly, while many are facing this blank page problem, YouTube appears to be working perfectly fine for others. During testing, I couldn’t replicate the bug myself; the homepage loaded normally with the usual video suggestions across desktop and mobile apps.

For now, affected users are left waiting and hoping for a fix from YouTube. The exact cause remains unclear, whether it’s a botched UI update, a server-side glitch, or something else entirely. But if your YouTube homepage looks unusually empty, know that many others are seeing the same thing.
