YouTube bottom navigator bar completely disappeared on one account.

It seems many Android users who opened YouTube in the past few hours have noticed that the bottom navigation bar has disappeared. This means that users are unable to easily access key features like subscriptions, notifications, and their library.
The issue seems to be affecting only certain accounts, and weirdly, not all devices or profiles are impacted. In my own testing, I couldn’t replicate the problem on either a Pixel 7a or Pixel 8, and switching between different Google accounts didn’t reveal any issues. But for many others, especially in Google’s support forums and on Reddit, it’s been frustrating.
Others have tried the usual troubleshooting steps like clearing cache, reinstalling the app, switching accounts, even factory resets. However, nothing seems to bring the navigation bar back.
“Tried everything, uninstalling the app, deleting app cache, resetting my phone and even removed my account from my Pixel phone and re-adding it, nothing seems to work,” said another frustrated user in the thread.
This morning, a Google employee from TeamYouTube posted on the official forums, acknowledging the bug. According to the post, the issue is currently known and being investigated. It’s officially listed as impacting Android users, and possibly YouTube Premium users too. They confirmed that the missing bottom navigation bar is part of the issue, and that a fix is being worked on.
Strangely, they mentioned that the issue is impacting users in the US. But users from around the world were quick to leave their notes under the post, confirming that it’s not just a bug limited to the US. People from all over are left with no bottom navigation bar in the app.
“We all have this problem in Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Poland. It’s a hoax that only US users are affected,” one user replied.
Still, no estimated time for a resolution has been shared. In the meantime, some users have found temporary workarounds, like navigating to their subscriptions via direct links or by using voice search. But for others, the experience is so broken they’re choosing to switch accounts just to access basic YouTube features again.
For now, if your navigation bar is missing, you’re not crazy — it’s a real issue. Hopefully, YouTube pushes out a fix soon before more users lose patience. We’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and will update the article if and when there’s something to share.
